Scottsdale Elks Lodge #2148

Real members. Real events. Real fundraising. Real deadlines. An excellent place to find out whether a system is actually useful.

Scottsdale Elks Lodge #2148 real work

The challenge

A busy Lodge runs on committee chairs, volunteers, events, fundraising, and member communications. Information was scattered. Routine updates took too much manual work. And volunteers, quite reasonably, have better things to do with their evenings.

What I built

Modernized the Lodge website and connected event information, email, forms, digital signage, ticketing, and volunteer communications. Built automated workflows for committee chairs and volunteers: clearer requests, fewer repeated updates, timely notifications, and more reliable follow-up. All on a nonprofit budget, which meant choosing low-cost and free tools and making them work hard.

What changed

One place to find events, tickets, fundraising, and what’s happening next. Behind the scenes, fewer duplicate updates and less chasing committee chairs for information.

Membership growth backed by practical systems

817% membership growth since March 31, 2017, the third-largest growth in the nation, while the average member age fell from 77 to 55. Scottsdale Elks Lodge #2148 became one of Arizona's largest Lodges, powered by the work of its leadership, members, and volunteers.

I strengthened the communications and digital systems supporting that growing community: a clearer website, live event information and countdowns, online ticket and fundraising journeys, automated notifications, and connected tools for committee chairs and volunteers. Less duplicate administration. Clearer ownership. Better follow-up. It turns out people under 60 will join a fraternal order. It helps if they can find out what’s on.
